About the Counselor:

Kimberly is the owner of Beleza Counseling LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the states of Pennsylvania and Virginia. 

 

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the Pennsylvania State University and is a certified school teacher. She has also received a Master’s degree in Counseling from Cairn University. She completed an 800-hour counseling internship at the Oasis Counseling Center and was an Assistant Course Instructor for their Graduate Counseling program at Cairn University.  She also has experience as a co-Instructor for Counselor Education courses at Penn State, both Fall and Spring semesters, for 3 years from 2004-2007.

 

Kimberly enjoyed working at Ganey Counseling in Newtown, PA, for five years before opening Beleza Counseling. She is passionate about treating adolescents and adults dealing with adjustment, separation/divorce, loss, grief, trauma, abuse, OCD, eating disorders, cutting, parenting issues, depression, and anxiety. Her integrative approach utilizes a variety of therapeutic models including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and the use of Mindfulness.

 

In her downtime, Kimberly enjoys running, reading, cooking, singing on the Worship Team at church, and traveling the world with her three sons and husband. She has also lived abroad in France and Brazil, speaking French and continuing to learn Portuguese.​

What does "Beleza" mean?
"Beleza" is a word in Portuguese that means beautiful. It is frequently used conversationally in Brazil as a relaxed way to say "life is beautiful" and "everything is fine/going well."
